Kerry Patterson
"The VitalSmarts co-founder whose research on high-stakes dialogue became a corporate training staple worldwide."
Kerry Patterson is an American author and organizational behavior researcher, co-founder of VitalSmarts (now Crucial Learning), and lead co-author of the bestselling book "Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High." Along with co-authors Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler, Patterson spent decades studying what separates people who navigate high-stakes, emotionally charged conversations well from those who avoid or mishandle them. "Crucial Conversations," first published in 2002, introduced a widely used framework for staying calm and constructive when opinions vary, stakes are high, and emotions run strong, and it has since become a staple of corporate training and leadership development programs worldwide.
